Who is coaching for?

Coaching is for you if you feel you need to make some improvement in an area of your life. Do you feel disatisfied with the direction your life, career or relationship is going? Are you looking for a way to change things but don't know where to start? Are those 'self-help' books less help than you thought?

Does coaching really work?

The short answer is yes it does. If you find a coach that is a good fit for the way you work then it can be a very rewarding process. Don't take our word for it. Here is what one of our clients has to say:

What will coaching do for you?

It's important that coaching sessions are tailored to your individual needs, but apart from moving you towards your desired goals participants usually find that they experience:

* Renewed clarity about their life and where they are heading

* Increased levels of confidence and the knowledge that they have the tools to cope with unexpected situations

* An increased self-awareness. The ability to take a step back and examine events and behaviours from a more objective standpoint.

Why should I use a professional coach?**

When you choose a coach with a wealth of experience and results behind them it can make a huge difference to your life. In many cases you may have an idea of what issue you need to tackle. A coach can help you do that. They can also work with you to dig deeper and uncover any root cause that may jump up and bite you later on. Maybe you've had the experience of successfully solving one issue only to find out that two seemingly unconnected problems arrive at the same time. Much of the time all three issues are connected by an underlying issue that you may not even be aware of. I can help you to uncover that issue and work with it.

How does coaching work?

Coaching works by giving you the tools you need to deal with situations and issues in an objective way. Your coach is not going to do the work for you (and it is work) but they are going to help you to move through a process that can really make a difference to your life. Typically coaching a specific issue can take between 4 and 6 sessions. Many clients decide to keep seeing their coach as they recognise the positive benefits it can bring them.

Typically a session will last an hour. Your first session is about getting to know each other. You will be able to ask as many questions as you would like. You can also expect to be asked a number of questions as well. I usually have a couple of fun activities lined up to enable us to uncover any underlying issues as quickly as possible.

Session two is the beginning of the real work. Depending on your issue and the way you like to work this can be a very fulfilling hour. It's not uncommon for my clients to come out of this session a little dazed. By the end of this session you will feel as though you are making progress. You can expect to leave with some homework. Remember, the point of attending coaching is to learn the tools and techniques that you can use in your everyday life.

Usually sessions 1 and 2 would be a week apart. Subsequent sessions will be boooked in depending on how we feel you are progressing. My aim in coaching you is to help you achieve massive change in a short space of time. It's hard work but it should also be a lot of fun.

My Success Coaching Story

I began coaching almost by accident about 25 years ago. I was designing and delivering training courses for a large company. I was delivering a lot of courses aimed at managers who felt stuck in their roles and didn't know why. As I learned more I began to teach techniques that would help them to get through their sticking points. Then something odd happened. Participants started to tell me that they had been using the techniques in other situations. People were thanking me for showing them how they could improve other areas of their lives, from their state of mind to their relationships.

I realised that I had found my passion. Helping people is what gets me out of bed each day and its what drives my business.

Since then I have successfully coached hundreds of people. I use a unique blend of traditional coaching, Neuro-Linguistic Progamming (which I've studied for over 12 years) and Psychology.
